Zwaal Family Christmas ~ 2007

The year has flown, What can I say, So many changes came our way!

The year began with Aaron back, with Hobbes and fish and all his tack.

Old Smoky’s not so thrilled to see, a new cat in our company.

A New Year’s Eve so frosty white, with Red Nose drivers we spend the night.

Then spring arrives with fresh renew, and time as always, yes it flew.

Life settles in with Lez a-quilting, Alec at school and Lee a-working.

Aaron’s in class, more auto tech training, a fourth year apprentice, and Vee Dub spec training

And Aaron has eyes for a new girl named Chris, as being a dad DNA will dismiss.

A visit from Parksville, it’s my mom and dad.  A wonderful visit, but too short we had.

June brings our vacation and what does Lee do?  With hammer and saw and gyproc screw?

He waves his level like a magical stick, and wonders appear as new colours we pick.

A set of French doors, and all wooden floor, and a special fused glass placed inside our front door.

A new dining room is the project this year, with not enough time in two weeks I fear.

But little by little, transformation sets in, and very soon guests are made welcome therein

The summer starts Alec working hard with his back, loading up pallets and riding a jack.

He’s learning the value of a good education and ended his summer with lazy vacation.

July came on hot, no clouds we did see with Lee flagging Champ Car, and Lez at Grand Prix.

Then another wine run, VQA XVI.  Too many rules, says Lez with a sigh!

Well it has to be vineyards we’d not seen before – that rule was the worst and went right out the door!

Lee tried very hard to keep us on in line, but the name of the game is buy lots of wine!

As summer cooled off and came to an end, more quilts for wounded soldiers Lezley does send.

And quilting continues in a west end bee – making quilts for the kids, Zebra Society.

Then Chris joins our household, moving furniture in, and so a new phase in our life does begin.

As life around here changes, “there’s a girl in the castle!”, a new routine’s found without any hassle.

With chainsaw and pickup, the boys hit the road, returning once more with a fireplace load.

Operation Nez Rouge has Lez working once more, and still at the quilt shop, there’s no time to snore!

Plans start to form for Christmas again, this one will see Gramps and Gran on a train!

And sisters and bro coming here from the east, a houseful with family and cousins we feast!

The big announcement is Aaron on knee, asking Chris if she’ll consent to his bride to be.

Once again we are thankful for all we have done, and keeping in mind is rule number ONE

Our friends and are family are the only cause who give us time to reflect and time to pause.

Your friendship means more to us than you know, Come share more good times, just knock on the door.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Lee, Lez, Aaron and Chris, Alec, Smoky, Hobbes and Scirocco
