Christmas 2006 ~ From our house to yours....

Well waddya know !There's LOTS of snow! It's wintertime once more.
Another year has flown on by just like the Champ Car roar.

With friends old and new, we start '06 on a wet Vancouver Isle
With Aubrey and Deb, and a tour of Buchart, the hours away we did wile.

With Alec we drove further north up the island, a visit with Gramps and Gran.
A relaxing time and mom's cooking so fine, enjoying time with Herb and Jan

.

Safely back home, the year underway, Barrett-Jackson did beckon once more.
This time it was Aaron who traveled with Lee, viewing auctioned chromed cars galore.

Then roads, they did quiver and yes, we did shiver, as Alec can now drive alone.
To church and to friend's, more miles on the truck - 'cause now it is never at home.

But Lee is at home, as the saw buzzed once more, a new laundry room renovation
And Lez did some quilting on unfinished objects, two projects come to a completion.

Lez saw wounded soldiers without comfort quilts, and said "Something's got to be done!"
A call to some quilters, and the next thing you know, strangers sending quilts - more than just one!

A visit to the garrison, new ventures begin, and quilts to the wounded are given.
The next thing you know, the project included Jane and Jan who honour our fallen.

Then 10 years of Ladies Night, a trip long in planning. To Vegas we women did fly.
We shopped and we walked, we giggled and talked. "Cirque" memories bring on a sigh.

The month of May was quite the story, a quilt show and visit with Janet and Lori

The trip to our capital, and quilts for our soldiers, include National Defense in our story!

Sis Mary and Richard exchanged wedding vows, in a farmyard so very peaceful.
The Worel clan gathered despite storm clouds brewing, the ceremony truly delightful.

Then Aaron met KayLynn, and his world changed, as with her he'd much rather be,
Soon news came to us, of a new generation, an Opa and Oma? Who ME?

As race day arrived with nary a breeze, Lee registered the tarmac at 40 degrees
He got a prime spot, even tho it was hot - the people at Champ Car did put him at ease.

New adventures begin with Lee moving to ATCO, And Lez works a quilt shop - not sure that is work tho!
With Alec doing extra, he's working small gigs, a wedding sound man wouldn't ya know!

In August we flew, Piet and Marg and girls too, as we visited the Segal clan,
Erika’s joyous Bat Mitzvah in San Francisco and partying indeed was the plan.

As September came by, we did contemplate - wine buying in Washington State.
With Carolyn and Brett, and the best dollar yet, a cellar filled up, that's just great!

With fall barely here, too early this year, a grand dump of snowfall did come,
No chance finishing yard work, and minus 3-OH! It was just too cold for some.

Never one to be bored, a new contract Lez scored, she's now guiding Operation Red Nose.
With great volunteers it will end our old year, keeping drinkers from driving our roads.

So here we arrive, our family did thrive, an adventurous and prosperous year
Our place is the same, the invites remain - if you're near, come on by for some cheer!

Very special Christmas greetings - Lee, Lezley, Alec, Aaron and KayLynn and cats Smoky and Hobbes
