Can you believe, It’s time to leave ~ The year "oh-two" behind?
The days grow short, Bring out the port! ~ Perhaps we can unwind.
The weather’s been great, Again I am late ~ To put my words into rhyme
No time to rest, Hi-lite the best ~ And remember our year in time.
The year did start, with Oma we part ~ To Regina in a great care home.
Then Lez drove away, BC you say ~ Visiting cousins and friends with her mom.
Lez still into soccer, and quilts in her rocker ~ And with Lee they’re still tasting more wine.
The Worel girls come, barbershop they do hum ~ And win gold with Sweet Adeline.
Well there goes Lez, she’s Community pres ~ She just can’t give "no" as an answer.
But her friends she does twist, cajole and insist ~ Into a 12 hour run for cancer.
With June we do see, a great travel spree ~ As we head to Holland once more
A party of 8, adventures just great ~ With pictures and stories galore.
To celebrate 50, Lez thought it was nifty ~ To get herself far from her clan.
She’d pulled some surprises, not wanting reprises ~ But Lee’s cousins a party did plan!
Le Mans and Bordeaux, Rothschild’s and Margaux ~ To France for the tenth VQA,
By motorhome and car, planes and trains took us far ~ We had only one rainy day!
Summer holidays begin, as we all settle in ~ back home a new project we start.
The front step is gone, and we follow plans drawn ~ the veranda now done – looks quite smart!
With fall moving in, junior high does begin ~ for Alec is now at Westlawn
Aaron I fear, is in his last year ~ and the world is calling "c’mon!".
Aaron’s under the hood, car mechanic (real good) ~ and Alec an Air Cadet
In band Alec’s the one behind baritone ~ and his math is his best subject yet.
November out the door we travel once more ~ as Oma celebrates 80
The weather’s cool, we love Piet’s pool ~ and birthday treats so tasty.
And yet another story, with Gramps, Ralph and Lori ~ oh how the trees did fall.
As chainsaws did roar and muscles now sore ~ but we had ourselves a ball!
It’s Christmas time, now ends my rhyme ~ we’re stoking the fireplace
If you’re near give a yell, and we wish you well ~ and enjoy a quiet pace.
