Season's Greetings - 2001!!
2001 - Christmas and the Holiday Season
The year has passed with life so fast. And my poetry's getting worse!
Our Christmas past kept us working fast, As we started to insulate.
When the heating came, it was time to frame ~ And hope for a heat rebate!
The walls we framed, no time for games, We finally made new rooms.
The space above our garage mom loves. The sewing machine it zooms.
School spring break found us 'Frisco bound ~ And we drove the big highway.
The weather was great as we headed right strait ~ To the coast of the USA.
It was a treat, to finally meet Fellow 'net quilter Cathy G. And check out the shops, as our dollar did drop.
But the choices - too many you see!!
The sights we saw left us four in awe. And a tour of Sonoma did end
A wonderful time in the ocean clime. Our thanks to the Segals we send.
Soccer became the family spring game ~ As Alec did let the ball fly
Mom helped coach the team, "More soccer" she screamed! And decided to play -don't ask why!
A quick trip to Sask - homebound Oma the task , As she'd spent some of June in our town.
She'd come with the Zwaals and they graced our new "hall" ~ Short trips but good all around.
Caught up with a cousin, the kitchen was buzzin', with Lynda in Vegreville
Then saw Janet and Lori, more cousins the story, As we lost my mom's brother Bill
The wine tour did go, as did PWAGEN once mo'. To the wineries, the 6 of us traveled.
My mom came to sit with the boys for a bit. Their adventures? Well no one has tattled!!
A trip in September, more past to remember, as "gramps" had a big 7-5.
And Hick's little girl, Tammy gave us a whirl, to a Moose Jaw wedding we'd drive.
October, it came and Gramps did the same! And stayed with us for awhile.
The woodcutters struck, and filled up the truck. Split wood now a tidy big pile.
The streets this year, are cringing in fear, as Aaron has found his way
A licence in hand, strike up the band!! And for gas, he must now pay!!
Well the house is aglow, and the streets filled with snow. Our winter has truly set in.
Oma's back at our place, joined our family rat race, and we think of our family and kin.
'Tis the Christmas season - we need no further reason, to send greetings one and to all
If you make it on by and want to say "HI" ! We're still close to West Edmonton Mall!!
When you're done with that place, need to slow down the pace, Give a shout and come this way.
Come for a cuppa or even some suppa! ~ 'Twould be a fine way to end up a day.
All the best to each one, enjoy your day in the sun ~ As this holiday season arrives
Let the New Year not bore as your world you explore ~ And may good times be a part of your lives.
Season's Greetings from Lee, Lez, Aaron, Alec and Adrie (Oma) Zwaal. And from Smoky the Cat too!
